Imagine what it would be like to attend school or teach classes without a pencil or a piece of paper. Every day, hundreds of thousands of students and teachers in Malawi do not have access to the most basic school materials. In an effort to support education in Malawi, Goods for Good has started a school sponsorship program - School Connect. This program links US schools, youth groups and other organizations to under-resourced schools in Malawi.

The first phase of School Connect is collecting materials for one Teacher Supply Closet. Each Supply Closet will contain enough materials for 11 teachers to teach 1,000 children for one school year. In addition to improving the lives of children in Malawi participants will also have the opportunity to learn more about the culture, history and challenges students in Malawi face every day.

Following a successful first phase of School Connect, partners can assist with capital campaigns for school improvements, send volunteers to the school and provide other support as needed. Participants are also encouraged to communicate with partner schools through letters.
